Freeride Keep The Vibe High with Jeff Holden

Jeff Holden.jpg

Jeff Holden is a mix of big mountain culture and the arts. Beginning his career as a ski bum, he entered the competition world earning the title Freeride World Tour Champion. Video segments with Matchstick Productions and Teton Gravity Research soon followed. Jeff began building independent Freeride events in Western Canada in 2000 as a Technical Director and Head Judge. 20 years and over 200 events later, his commitment extends from athlete to educational ambassador in the big mountain community promoting the notion that cooperation supersedes competition. As the judging director for the International Freeskiers and Snowboarders association and the founder of Western Canada Freeride, he draws on his training in trauma therapy and addiction studies to help foster a culture that prioritizes celebration of sport. His feeling towards big mountain sport can be summarized in his own words, “ride new lines, make new friends, learn something about yourself and you win, Freeride keep the vibe high”
